    Abstract

Over the past two decades, Ghana has undergone significant transformations in its structure, behaviour, politics, and social aspects. On the path to economic emanci pation, these structural changes necessitate policies commensurate with the country’s evolving structure. This study aimed analysed the changing structure of the Ghana ian economy by identifying the contribution of each sector to output, production, and income growth propensities using Ghana’s 2019 Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) and employed the multiplier framework to estimate the growth propensities of the ma jor economic sectors. In particular, this study estimated the propensity to produce, earn income, and be employed. The multiplier propensities suggest that the indus trial sector is critical to Ghana’s economic growth agenda. However, the agricultural and service sectors remain critical for increasing household income. Therefore, for Ghana to achieve an optimal blend of increasing household income through economic growth, the country should adopt a holistic value chain approach that encompasses agricultural development, industrialisation, and service improvement.
